Last week our Below The Kōwhai VIP Community hosted a Tui Pinafore Sew Along on Facebook!
It was my first sew along I’ve ever been part of – as a host and also as a sewer! I was delighted with how much fun it was to be involved and if it’s okay with all of you I’d love to host more in the future! (with a few lessons learnt!)
Additionally and personally, it was such an honour for me to be seeing so many people making and sharing their Tui Pinafores over the week. I got such a buzz from it and have been hard at work since with a new burst of motivation and inspiration! So thank you!!
Here are the completed Tui Pinafores that were posted to our group during the sew along period. I’ve credited their names below them and if they have a public social profile have linked you to them so you can check out their craft, they are all talented creators and I loved seeing their process!
At the bottom – giveaway winners!
Sew Along Giveaways
I said at the beginning of the sew along that there would be spot prizes based on the prompts throughout the week. I had a wee list of things I was looking out for throughout the week (sneaky) and so would like to send Melinda and Jo a gift each to say thanks!
For Creative Content (L): I absolutely loved Melinda’s FB video about how to attach lace to the bodice. Thanks for going above and beyond and sharing your own tips in the video you posted! I would love to gift you a digital sewing pattern of your choice from the Below The Kōwhai collection.
For Pattern Hacks (R): I got a thrill to see Jo changing up the pattern by including giant buttons on the outside of the dress and button holes on the straps. I would love to gift you a digital sewing pattern of your choice from the Below The Kōwhai collection.
A special mention goes to Toni (Hot air balloon pinafore above), who, during the sew along broke her elbow! We are thinking of you and hope you’re resting well!
And to all of you who took part; Thank you for joining in! I hope your little muses are loving their new Tui Pinafore and are filling their pockets up with treasures!
Love and happy sewing, Sophie x
