For summer think: Cottons, voile, lawn, linen and linen blends, chambray and light denims (there are so many great denims available now!), and anything similar that catches your eye!
For winter think: Quilting or upholstery weight cottons, corduroy, velvet, drill, and anything similar that catches your eye!
Fit and Ease of The BellBird Dress:
The BellBird Dress has been created for playing in so there is plenty of ease already included in the pattern. Its been designed for a loose fit (enough for a top underneath it for winter), and we think you’ll love the bell sleeves that gather at the wrist.
When you are choosing what size to create, measure around the chest (tape measure tucked underneath the underarm). Use the chest measurement to determine what size your child is.
This pattern has been created using Standard American Measurements and might seem different to what you usually buy in stores. Therefore, use the size the chart says you are to fit the chest, and if required, lengthen or shorten the skirt as needed.
Fabric and Fit Chart:
Additional Notions Required:
- Elastic 1-1.5cm in width (length supplied in chart) for sleeves
- Thin elastic (rolled or flat) for button loop. 5cm / 2 inches.
- Safety Pin (for threading elastic)
- 1x medium sized button
